The entire compound of this mansion is full of indigenous flowers that beautify the whole area. There is a lush orchard which produces fruits required for jam and cordial production The kiosk that sells all these productions and tea coffee for the visitors has been popular among visitors as they are able to buy genuine products. At present this place is a monastery of St Benedict’s mission and presently it is used as a place where fathers are trained. We can also get the chance of visiting the furniture, ceramics, and paintings of Mrs. Thomas, the wife of Thomas Lester. The spacious compound that can be used as a viewpoint gives a long view along the Uva valley up to Hill Namunukula. A few rooms of this monastery are rent out on a restaurant basis. In the 1950s this was owned by late ministers Mrs. Wimala Wijayawardhan and later on, it was taken over by st Benedict’s mission in England.
