GAMANA Sri Lanka, our small island has received international attention for many reasons. The beautiful beach all around the island is one of them. Pasikuda, which is a coastal township on the Eastern side of the country with a wonderful beach has become so popular among both local and foreign tourists due to its uniqueness and beauty. From Colombo, there are several roads to reach this place. Kurunegala, Dambulla, Habaran, Welikanda, Oddamawadi and Pasikuda road takes about seven hours and the distance is 296km.If travelers can take the way through Galle, Hambantota, Monaragala, Pottuvil, Kalmuai, Kattankudy, Batticaloa, and Pasikudah the journey will be so worthwhile as it runs through beautiful places and beaches in Sri Lanka. This beach, where hardly any current exists, consists of shallow water as far as one kilometer. That is why this beach is so famous among people.
Another reason for being famous is the surrounding towns and places which are touristically significant. Batticaloa is one of them where you can see a large number of beautiful places. Gandi Park, Kallady Bridge, Batticaloa Fort, Kallady Beach, Batticaloa Gate, and Lighthouse are some of them. Another place is Kalkudah Beach which is quite similar to Pasikuda.
Although these areas suffered due to the tsunami and the 30-year war, now we can see a great renaissance with new hotels and development with programs carried out with foreign investments. Out of all the beaches, this is the number one beach in Sri Lanka which is very appropriate for amusement and water sports. The world-class hotel and restaurant facilities, from the lowest level to five, four, and three-star levels, provide an excellent service to the tourists and travelers who seek accommodation here.
